Singapore Set to Host the 2026 SEA Youth Table Tennis Championships this April

SINGAPORE – The future stars of Southeast Asian table tennis are heading to the "Lion City" as the Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) prepares to host the 2026 SEA Youth Table Tennis Championships from April 14 to 19, 2026.

This prestigious regional tournament, held under the auspices of the South East Asian Table Tennis Association (SEATTA), serves as a crucial battleground for the region’s best Junior (U-19) and Cadet (U-15) paddlers.

The Path to the Continental Stage

Beyond regional pride, there is significant weight behind this year's competition. The finalists in the U-19 Boys’ and Girls’ Team events will earn direct qualification for the Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships later this year. For many of these young athletes, Singapore represents the first major step toward the 2026 Asian Games and eventually the Olympic stage.

Home Ground Advantage for Singapore

As the host nation, Singapore is set to field a formidable squad. Under SEATTA regulations, the host country is permitted to enter double the standard number of athletes in individual events. This provides an unprecedented platform for Singapore’s rising talents to test their mettle against the best from regional powerhouses like Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

"Hosting the SEA Youth Championships is a testament to Singapore’s commitment to youth development," said a representative from the organizing committee. "We are excited to provide our young paddlers the chance to compete at home while showcasing the incredible hospitality and world-class facilities Singapore has to offer."

Tournament Format

Fans can expect six days of high-intensity action featuring:

  • Team Events (U-15 & U-19): Establishing the dominant youth programs in the region.

  • Singles & Doubles: Showcasing individual technical brilliance and partnership synergy.

  • Mixed Doubles: A fast-paced display of tactical versatility.

The event will be held during a busy month for Singaporean table tennis, following closely on the heels of the WTT Singapore Smash 2026.

Stay Tuned: Match schedules and live-streaming details will be released in early 2026. Follow SEATTA and STTA on social media for the latest updates.
