SEATTA Strengthens Pathways for Technical Officials
The Southeast Asian Table Tennis Association (SEATTA) continues to place strong emphasis on the development of technical officials, recognizing their vital role in ensuring fair play and professional standards at every level of competition.
In recent years, SEATTA has actively promoted training opportunities and encouraged member associations to nominate candidates for international certification. Several umpires from the region have already officiated at World Table Tennis (WTT) events and regional tournaments, reflecting the growing expertise within Southeast Asia.
Looking ahead, SEATTA is committed to expanding this progress by supporting more candidates to achieve International Umpire and Referee status under ITTF regulations. This initiative aims to increase the pool of qualified officials from the region, ensuring that Southeast Asia is well represented in global competitions and that its events meet the highest standards of governance.
By investing in the skills of technical officials, SEATTA reinforces its vision of holistic development—where athletes, coaches, and officials grow together to elevate the sport across the region.
